AWS Cost Explorer Enhancements

AWS Cost Explorer now integrates Amazon Q Developer's generative AI capabilities, enabling natural language queries for cost analysis. This feature allows users to ask questions about AWS cost and usage data, receiving both answers and updated visualizations in Cost Explorer. Suggested prompts and a 'Ask Question' button facilitate conversational cost analysis, with automatic updates to charts and tables based on cost and usage data. Insights from additional datasets are displayed in Amazon Q's artifacts panel, allowing for seamless follow-up questions without context loss.

What to do

  • Use the new suggested prompts in Cost Explorer for common cost questions.
  • Ask custom questions using the 'Ask Question' button for conversational analysis.
  • Explore insights from additional datasets in Amazon Q's artifacts panel.
