Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio now supports multiple code spaces within projects for IAM domains

Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio Updates
Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio now allows data workers to create and manage multiple code spaces within a single project for IAM domains. Previously limited to one JupyterLab space and one Code Editor space, this update enables parallel work on different workstreams or experiments with varied compute and storage needs.
Each code space maintains its own persistent Amazon EBS volume, ensuring independent preservation of files, data, and session state. You can scale compute and storage per space, pause and resume them at any time, and customize the runtime environment for each task. Spaces can be opened in dedicated browser tabs or connected to a local IDE with full functionality, including Amazon Q paid tier support.
What to do
- Create multiple code spaces within a single project for parallel work on different tasks.
- Scale compute and storage independently for each space.
- Preserve files, data, and session state with each space maintaining its own Amazon EBS volume.
- Open spaces in dedicated browser tabs or connect to a local IDE.
