Amazon RDS for MySQL 8.4.11 Support

Amazon RDS for MySQL now supports MySQL minor version 8.4.11, the latest minor version released by the community. This update includes operational improvements and introduces support for post-quantum TLS (PQ-TLS) key exchange, enhancing data encryption in-transit.

We recommend upgrading to newer minor versions to address CVEs in prior versions, benefit from bug fixes, performance improvements, and new functionality.

What to do

  • Upgrade your databases to MySQL 8.4.11 for the latest features and security fixes.
  • Consider using automatic minor version upgrades during scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Explore Amazon RDS Managed Blue/Green deployments for safer updates.
