Amazon EC2 R8i and R8i-flex Instances in Calgary

Amazon EC2 R8i and R8i-flex instances are now available in the Canada West (Calgary) region. These instances are powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, offering up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth compared to previous generation Intel-based instances.

• Performance: 20% higher than R7i instances, with up to 60% faster NGINX web applications and 40% faster AI deep learning recommendation models.
• R8i-flex: Memory-optimized Flex instances, ideal for most memory-intensive workloads, available in sizes from large to 16xlarge.
• R8i: Suitable for all memory-intensive workloads, offering 13 sizes including 2 bare metal sizes and a new 96xlarge size.
• SAP-certified: R8i instances deliver 142,100 aSAPS, the highest among comparable machines.
