Amazon EBS Volume Clones

Amazon EBS Volume Clones now supports copying EBS volumes across AWS accounts with re-encryption. This enables organizations to copy data across account boundaries securely.

What to do

  • Share the volume with the target account using AWS RAM.
  • Create a copy of the shared volume in the target account.
  • Access this capability using the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, or AWS SDKs.

Cross-account copy is available in all AWS Regions that support Amazon EBS Volume Clones.
