The new AgentCore Runtime is now available in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

New AgentCore Runtime Available

AWS has released the next generation of AgentCore Runtime, a serverless microVM compute within Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. This new Runtime offers elastic memory management, reclaiming unused memory during sessions, resulting in lower costs and faster starts. Key features include:

• Elastic Memory Management: Reclaims unused memory throughout the session.
• Consistent Cold Start Times: Snapshots the agent environment, reducing start times to 1.9 to 2.0 seconds.
• Serverless Model: No pre-provisioning, scale to zero, hardware-enforced session isolation, and pay-per-use.

What to do

• Set platformVersion to V2 when creating or updating a runtime.
