New API Launch for EC2 Auto Scaling

EC2 Auto Scaling has introduced a new API, LaunchInstances, providing enhanced control and flexibility over instance provisioning with immediate capacity feedback.

This feature allows customers to specify exact launch locations within an Auto Scaling group, offering real-time scaling operation insights and the ability to implement alternative strategies swiftly.

  • Availability: Available in all AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions.
  • Cost: No additional cost beyond standard EC2 and EBS usage.

What to do

  • Use the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) or AWS SDKs to start utilizing the new API.
  • Refer to the AWS documentation for more details on the feature.
