AWS Parallel Computing Service (PCS) Update

AWS PCS now supports Slurm v25.05, allowing you to create clusters with the latest Slurm version. This update includes:

  • Enhanced Multi-Cluster Configuration: Login nodes can control multiple clusters without reconfiguration.
  • Improved Requeue Behavior: Automatically retries failed instance launches during capacity shortages, increasing cluster reliability.

What to do

  • Update your clusters to Slurm v25.05 to leverage the new features.
  • Review the new functionalities to optimize your HPC workloads.
