AWS Elastic Beanstalk Node.js 24 on Amazon Linux 2023

AWS Elastic Beanstalk now supports building and deploying Node.js 24 applications on Amazon Linux 2023 (AL2023). This platform allows developers to use the latest features and improvements in Node.js while benefiting from the enhanced security and performance of AL2023.

Elastic Beanstalk is a service that simplifies the deployment and management of applications in AWS without managing the underlying infrastructure. Node.js 24 on AL2023 includes updates to the V8 JavaScript engine, npm 11, and security and performance enhancements.

Developers can create Elastic Beanstalk environments running Node.js 24 on AL2023 using the Elastic Beanstalk Console, CLI, or API.

What to do

  • Create a new Elastic Beanstalk environment with Node.js 24 on AL2023.
  • Migrate existing applications to the new platform.
  • Review the updated V8 JavaScript engine and npm 11 features.
