AWS Agent Toolkit for AWS CLI Updates

AWS has introduced two new CLI commands for the Agent Toolkit to streamline skill updates:

  • Check Skill Updates: Run aws agent-toolkit check-skill-updates to compare installed skills against the latest versions.
  • Update All Skills: Use aws agent-toolkit update-skill --all to update all outdated skills in one command.

These updates simplify managing skills for teams using multiple skills across various domains. To start, refer to the AWS CLI in the Agent Toolkit for AWS user guide. Ensure you have AWS CLI version 2.37.0 or later installed. The AWS MCP Server is available in US East (N. Virginia) and Europe (Frankfurt) Regions.

What to do

  • Install AWS CLI version 2.37.0 or later.
  • Run aws agent-toolkit check-skill-updates to identify outdated skills.
  • Use aws agent-toolkit update-skill --all to update all skills.
