AWS Availability Notifications for Capabilities by Region

AWS introduces availability notifications for AWS Capabilities by Region in AWS Builder Center, a new subscription-based system that alerts builders when AWS services and features become available in their target Regions. This feature simplifies tracking the availability of over 1,500 services and features across 37 AWS Regions, enhancing infrastructure planning and deployment decisions.

Builders can subscribe at the service level through the AWS Builder Center UI, with notifications covering all underlying features across selected Regions. Notifications are delivered via in-app alerts and a weekly email digest. Subscription management and preferences are handled in Settings > Notifications within AWS Builder Center. Common use cases include tracking specific capability launches, monitoring service parity across Regions, and preparing for migrations or Regional expansions.

What to do

  • Subscribe to services in AWS Builder Center to receive availability notifications.
  • Manage subscriptions and preferences in Settings > Notifications.
  • Prepare for upcoming migrations or Regional expansions by tracking feature availability.
