AWS Backup Logically Air-Gapped Vault Now Supports Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP

AWS Backup now supports Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP in logically air-gapped vaults, allowing secure sharing of backups across accounts and AWS Organizations. This feature helps reduce recovery time from data loss events and meets compliance and disaster recovery requirements.

What to do

  • Use the AWS Backup console, CLI, or SDKs to protect your FSx for NetApp ONTAP volumes.
  • Target backups to a logically air-gapped vault in your backup plan.
  • Share the vault with other accounts using AWS RAM.
  • Initiate direct restore jobs from the vault.

This support is available in all AWS Regions where both logically air-gapped vault and Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP are available. For more information, visit the AWS Backup documentation.
