ARC Region switch adds four new capabilities

Amazon Application Recovery Controller (ARC) Region Switch Updates
ARC Region switch now includes four new capabilities to help orchestrate the failover of multi-Region applications during a Regional impairment:
- AWS Systems Manager Run Command execution block: Invoke Run Command actions on managed instances during failover, with plan evaluation verifying command documents and IAM permissions.
- Payloads for custom action Lambda execution block: Pass payloads to your custom action Lambda execution block, allowing reusability of Lambda functions across recovery plans.
- Service quota checks: Verify quota parity between primary and standby Regions, and automatically submit quota limit increases to reduce the risk of insufficient service quotas during recovery.
- Wait for target group health: Ensure provisioned capacity is ready to serve traffic by verifying target group health before traffic is routed.
What to do
- Review the documentation for the AWS Systems Manager Run Command execution block, custom action Lambda execution block, Service quota checks, and Wait for target group health.
ARC Region switch is available in all commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. See ARC Region switch availability.
