AWS Local Zone in Athens, Greece Now Available

AWS has launched a new Local Zone in Athens, Greece, supporting Amazon S3 and Amazon EBS Local Snapshots to meet local data residency needs. The Athens Local Zone offers Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon EBS, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, Amazon VPC, AWS Direct Connect, and Application Load Balancer with no minimum commitment and pay-as-you-go pricing.

What to do

  • Enable the Athens Local Zone (eu-central-1-ath-1a) from the Regions and Zones tab in the AWS Global View or via the ModifyAvailabilityZoneGroup API.
  • Review the AWS Local Zones pricing page for cost details.
  • Visit the AWS Local Zones overview page for more information.
