Amazon RDS for Oracle on AWS Outposts

Amazon RDS for Oracle is now available on AWS Outposts, a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, services, APIs, and tools to on-premises environments. This enables customers to run Oracle databases on-premises with AWS features and services.

Key Features

  • Fully Managed Experience: Automated backups, automated patching, point-in-time recovery, monitoring with Amazon CloudWatch, and data encryption at rest with AWS KMS.
  • High Availability: Multi-AZ deployments across two Outposts racks with automatic failover.
  • Disaster Recovery: Restore database instances in the parent AWS Region or set up replica instances in different Outpost racks or regions.
  • Oracle Versions: Support for Oracle Database 19c and 21c Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition 2 using the BYOL model.
