AWS introduces Database Savings Plans, a new pricing model offering up to 35% savings in exchange for a consistent usage commitment over a one-year term. This model applies to various databases and regions, including Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, and more, with no upfront payment required.

Key features include:

• Automatic application to eligible serverless and provisioned instances.
• Flexibility to change instance types, regions, and database engines without losing savings.
• Availability in all AWS Regions except China, with support for multiple database services.
