AWS Lambda MicroVMs Available in 4 New Regions

AWS Lambda MicroVMs is now available in 4 additional AWS Regions: Asia Pacific (Hong Kong), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Asia Pacific (Thailand), and Europe (Spain). This brings the total number of available regions to 14.

New Features

  • VM-level isolation: Provides secure, stateful, and responsive code execution.
  • Near-instant launch and resume speeds: Optimized for quick execution of user or AI-generated code.
  • State preservation: Maintains the state of the VM for consistent execution.

What to do

  • Create a MicroVM image from your Dockerfile.
  • Launch MicroVMs from the created image.
  • Use MicroVMs through the AWS Lambda console, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Cloud Development Kit, or Agentic development tools.
