AWS Lambda Kafka Event Source Mapping Integration

AWS has introduced a new integration in the Amazon MSK Console that simplifies connecting MSK topics to Lambda functions. This feature streamlines the process of configuring MSK as an event source for Lambda, allowing you to specify your topic and target function directly in the MSK Console. The integration automatically handles event source mapping (ESM) configuration, reducing the need to switch between consoles and minimizing configuration errors.

This feature is available in all AWS Commercial Regions where both Amazon MSK and AWS Lambda are available, except for specific regions.

What to do

• Navigate to your MSK cluster in the MSK Console.
• Provide the topic, Lambda function, and optional fields under the Lambda integration tab.
• Review the Lambda and MSK pricing details.
• Consult the Lambda and MSK developer guides for more information.
