Amazon WorkSpaces Personal: Advanced Printer Redirection

AWS introduces advanced printer redirection for Amazon WorkSpaces Personal, allowing Windows users to utilize full printer capabilities from their virtual desktops. This includes features like double-sided printing, paper tray selection, and finishing options.

This feature supports printer-specific drivers for enhanced printing needs and includes configurable driver validation modes. It is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon WorkSpaces Personal is offered, for Windows WorkSpaces with Windows clients, requiring WorkSpaces Agent version 2.2.0.2116 or later and Windows client version 5.31 or later. Matching printer drivers must be installed on both the WorkSpace and the client device.

What to do

  • Update WorkSpaces Agent to version 2.2.0.2116 or later.
  • Update Windows client to version 5.31 or later.
  • Install matching printer drivers on both the WorkSpace and the client device.
