Amazon S3 Vectors Expands to 17 New Regions

Amazon S3 Vectors is now available in 17 additional AWS Regions, providing native support for storing and querying vectors. This expansion brings S3 Vectors to a total of 31 AWS Regions.

S3 Vectors offers cost-optimized vector storage for AI agents, inference, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and semantic search at a billion-vector scale. It provides the same elasticity, durability, and availability as Amazon S3, with dedicated APIs for storing and querying up to two billion vectors per index and scaling to 10,000 indexes per bucket without infrastructure provisioning. Query results are returned in under one second for infrequent queries and as low as 100 milliseconds for frequent queries.
