Amazon S3 Tables Intelligent-Tiering Storage Class

Amazon S3 Tables now offer the Intelligent-Tiering storage class, optimizing costs based on access patterns without performance impact or operational overhead. Intelligent-Tiering automatically transitions data across three low-latency access tiers, reducing storage costs by up to 80%. Automated maintenance operations keep tables optimized while saving on storage costs.

Data not accessed for 30 consecutive days transitions to the Infrequent Access tier (40% lower cost). After 90 days without access, it transitions to the Archive Instant Access tier (68% lower cost). You can select Intelligent-Tiering when creating a table or set it as the default for all new tables in a table bucket.
