Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports Supplemental Patch Bundle for July 2026 Release Update

Amazon RDS for Oracle Updates

Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports the Supplemental Patch Bundle (SPB) for the July 2026 Release Update (RU) for Oracle Database version 19c and 26ai. The SPB includes additional database patches recommended by Oracle for specific use cases, such as Oracle Spatial, Oracle Data Pump, and Oracle GoldenGate.

What to do

  • Apply the SPB update for new database instances.
  • Upgrade existing instances to engine version 19.0.0.0.ru-2026-07.spb-1.r1 or 26.0.0.0.ru-2026-07.spb-1.r1 by selecting the "Supplemental Patch Bundle Engine Versions" checkbox in the AWS Console.
  • Use AWS Organizations upgrade rollout policy to stagger automatic minor version upgrades for your Amazon RDS database instances.
