Amazon Kinesis Data Streams has launched On-demand Advantage, allowing customers to warm on-demand streams to handle instant throughput increases up to 10GB or 10 million events per second. This eliminates the need to over-provision or build custom scaling solutions.
New Features
- Warm on-demand streams to handle instant throughput increases up to 10GB or 10 million events per second.
- Simplifies pricing structure by removing the fixed, per-stream charge.
- Data usage pricing is 60% lower compared to On-demand Standard.
- Data ingest at $0.032/GB and data retrieval at $0.016/GB in the US East (N. Virginia) region.
- Enhanced fan-out data retrieval pricing is the same as shared-throughput retrievals.
- Extended retention pricing is 77% lower at $0.023/GB-month.

- Check the Kinesis console and pricing page to see if On-demand Advantage is suitable for your account.
- Enable On-demand Advantage mode in the Kinesis console.
