Amazon Inspector adds Java Gradle support and expands ecosystem coverage

Amazon Inspector Enhancements

Amazon Inspector now supports scanning for Java Gradle inventory and vulnerability scanning for Lambda functions and ECR images. Additionally, coverage has been expanded to include MySQL, MariaDB, PHP, Jenkins-core, 7zip (on Windows), Elasticsearch, and Curl/LibCurl. This update improves the detection of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across various applications and environments.

New Features

  • Java Gradle Support: Scans Java dependencies based on gradle.lockfile content.
  • Expanded Coverage: Detection of vulnerabilities in MySQL, MariaDB, PHP, Jenkins-core, 7zip (on Windows), Elasticsearch, and Curl/LibCurl.

  • Start using the new Java Gradle support for comprehensive vulnerability assessments.
  • Scan Lambda functions and ECR images to see findings for the newly supported technologies.
