Amazon EventBridge Relaunches Custom Event Buses

Amazon EventBridge has relaunched its Custom event buses with enhanced features, enabling you to build scalable event-driven applications that decouple teams and grow with your organization.

New Features

  • Strict ordering of events
  • Open event formats
  • Built-in retention up to one year
  • Support for advanced event transformations
  • Subscriber resource for filtering and delivering events to over 250 AWS services
  • Native support for strictly ordered use cases
  • Automatic content-based deduplication

What to do

  • Create and share the new Custom event bus using AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, AWS SDKs, Serverless Agent skill, and AWS CloudFormation
  • Rename existing Custom event bus to Custom event bus - classic

Availability

  • Available in fourteen AWS Regions

Pricing

  • Note: New pricing model charges for data transferred rather than events
  • Benefit: Lower costs as workloads scale
