Amazon ECS Managed Instances adds configurable scale-in delay

Amazon ECS Managed Instances
ECS Managed Instances now provides greater control over infrastructure optimization with configurable scale-in delay. This allows you to fine-tune instance management based on your workload patterns and business requirements, balancing cost optimization with operational needs.
ECS Managed Instances automatically provisions right-sized Amazon EC2 instances based on workload requirements. It continuously monitors and optimizes costs by terminating idle instances and consolidating tasks. You can now set the scaleInAfter configuration parameter to up to 60 minutes to align with your specific needs, or set it to -1 to disable infrastructure optimization workflows.
You can configure the scaleInAfter parameter using ECS API, console, SDK, CDK, or CloudFormation. This feature is available in all commercial AWS Regions.
What to do
- Configure the scaleInAfter parameter in your ECS Managed Instances capacity provider.
- Review the documentation for more details.
- Read the deep dive blog post.
