AWS Health Dashboard Notifications for SQL Server HA

AWS has introduced a new feature allowing you to receive notifications through the AWS Health Dashboard when Amazon EC2 for SQL Server cannot detect a valid SQL Server High Availability (HA) status. This is especially useful for customers who manage EC2 SQL HA clusters via AWS Console or CloudFormation automation to minimize costs.

You can receive these notifications through AWS Health, Amazon EventBridge events, and email, enabling quick responses to avoid unexpected billing costs or charges.

What to do

  • Register your EC2 SQL HA clusters through AWS Console or CloudFormation automation.
  • Enable notifications through AWS Health, Amazon EventBridge events, or email.
  • Monitor notifications to respond quickly to any SQL Server HA status issues.
