Amazon EC2 G6f Instances Now Available in Europe (Spain) and Asia Pacific (Seoul)

Starting today, Amazon EC2 G6f instances powered by NVIDIA L4 GPUs are available in Europe (Spain) and Asia Pacific (Seoul). These instances are ideal for graphics workloads, offering GPU partitions as small as one-eighth of a GPU with 3 GB of GPU memory, allowing for cost savings compared to EC2 G6 instances.

G6f instances are suitable for remote workstations in Media & Entertainment, Computer-Aided Engineering, ML research, and spatial visualization. They come in 5 sizes with GPU partitions ranging from half to one-eighth of a GPU, paired with third-generation AMD EPYC processors offering up to 12 GB of GPU memory and 16 vCPUs.

These instances are available in multiple regions including AWS US East (N. Virginia and Ohio), US West (Oregon), Europe (Stockholm, Frankfurt, London, and Spain), Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Tokyo, Seoul, and Sydney), Canada (Central), and South America (Sao Paulo). They can be purchased as On-Demand Instances, Spot Instances, or through Savings Plans.

What to do

  • Launch G6f instances using the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, or AWS SDKs.
  • Ensure you use the NVIDIA GRID driver 18.4 or later.
  • Visit the G6 instance page for more information.
