Amazon EBS expands volume modification enhancement to AWS European Sovereign Cloud Region

Amazon EBS Enhancements in AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) Region
Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) now supports up to four Elastic Volumes modifications per volume within a rolling 24-hour window in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) Region. This update allows you to increase the size, change the type, and adjust the performance of your EBS volumes more flexibly.
With this enhancement, you can start a new modification immediately after the previous one completes, as long as you have initiated fewer than four modifications in the past 24 hours. This improvement enhances your operational agility to scale storage capacity or adjust performance in response to sudden data growth or workload spikes.
Elastic Volumes modifications enable you to modify your volumes without detaching them or restarting your instances, ensuring your application continues running with minimal performance impact.
What to do
- Review the new modification limits and plan your EBS volume modifications accordingly.
- Utilize Elastic Volumes modifications to scale storage capacity or adjust performance as needed.
- Continue running your applications without interruptions due to volume modifications.
