Amazon Aurora DSQL Change Data Capture (CDC) Preview

Amazon Aurora DSQL now supports change data capture (CDC) in preview, allowing you to stream real-time database changes to Amazon Kinesis Data Streams. This feature simplifies the process of building event-driven applications and real-time analytics pipelines.

Key Features

  • Automatically captures insert, update, and delete operations as change events.
  • Streams changes without affecting database throughput or latency.
  • No infrastructure setup required.

What to do

  • Use CDC events to synchronize data across microservices.
  • Trigger downstream processing with AWS Lambda.
  • Deliver events to Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon OpenSearch Service through Amazon Data Firehose.

Billing

  • Item: Streams are billed using Distributed Processing Units (DPUs) based on the volume of data captured.
  • Item: Standard Amazon Kinesis Data Streams pricing applies separately.
