AWS MCP Server Available in Six Additional Regions
The AWS MCP Server is now available in six additional AWS Regions: Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), and US West (Oregon). This managed Model Context Protocol server provides AI coding agents with a single interface to AWS APIs, enabling them to discover and call AWS services without the need for per-service integrations.
With this expansion, customers in these Regions can run the AWS MCP Server closer to their developers, reducing latency and keeping request data within the Region to meet data residency requirements. For instance, a development team in London can use a local endpoint to provision infrastructure, inspect running workloads, and debug failures without routing requests to another geography. The AWS MCP Server can access services in all commercial AWS Regions, while it runs in the listed Regions.
Available Regions
- US East (N. Virginia)
- US West (Oregon)
- Asia Pacific (Singapore)
- Asia Pacific (Sydney)
- Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
- Europe (Frankfurt)
- Europe (Ireland)
- Europe (London)
What to do
- Use the AWS MCP Server in the new Regions to benefit from lower latency and data residency compliance.
- Point your coding agents at the local endpoint in your region to provision infrastructure, inspect workloads, and debug failures.
