Launching External Web Access for Web Search on Amazon Bedrock

Amazon Bedrock Web Search Enhancements

We've expanded Web Search on Amazon Bedrock to include the external_web_access parameter, enabling models to retrieve content directly from the public web for the latest information.

What to do

• Grant the bedrock-websearch:ExternalWebAccess IAM permission to the request identity.
• Set the external_web_access parameter to true for public web access or false to keep retrieval within AWS.

Available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon).
