Introducing Amazon EC2 I8g.metal-48xl instances

Amazon EC2 I8g.metal-48xl Instances Now Available
AWS has launched the general availability of Amazon EC2 Storage Optimized I8g.metal-48xl instances, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors, offering up to 60% better compute performance than previous generation I4g instances. These instances feature the latest third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs, providing up to 65% better real-time storage performance per TB, 50% lower storage I/O latency, and 60% lower storage I/O latency variability. Built on the AWS Nitro System, they enhance performance and security for workloads by offloading CPU virtualization, storage, and networking functions to dedicated hardware and software.
These instances are ideal for I/O intensive workloads requiring rapid data access and real-time latency from storage, excelling in transactional and real-time databases, real-time analytics platforms, and more. Available in 11 sizes up to 48xlarge (including 2 metal sizes), they offer up to 1,536 GiB of memory, 45 TB local instance storage, 100 Gbps network performance bandwidth, and 60 Gbps dedicated bandwidth for Amazon EBS.
