AWS IoT Greengrass v2.17 is now available, introducing significant improvements and new features:
Key Updates
- Non-root User Support: Run the edge runtime as a non-root user on Linux systems, enhancing security in enterprise environments.
- Nucleus Lite Capabilities: New components that use significantly less memory, including:
- Secure Tunneling lite: Uses 4MB of memory, down from 36MB.
- Updated Fleet Provisioning: Supports TPM 2.0 for cryptographic operations and secure device identity management.
- PKCS#11 Interface: Enables authentication with AWS IoT Core using keys and certificates stored in an HSM.
Uninstall Life Cycle Capability
Automatically activates when you remove a component from a device, simplifying dependency management.
