AWS End User Messaging strengthens SMS deliverability with automatic failover

AWS End User Messaging Updates

AWS End User Messaging is enhancing its deliverability capabilities in phone pools. Customers now automatically benefit from automatic failover to the next best performing number in the pool when SMS delivery is impacted by downstream disruptions.

SMS deliverability can be affected by drops or delays when routing from AWS to messaging providers and mobile carriers. AWS End User Messaging monitors for delivery delays, message failures, or drops in conversion and reroutes traffic to a more optimized delivery path.

What to do

  • No action required for those using phone pools.
  • Create a phone pool by following these instructions if not already using one.

This capability is available in all AWS Regions where AWS End User Messaging is available.
