AWS Transit Gateway Flexible Cost Allocation
AWS has announced the general availability of Flexible Cost Allocation (FCA) on AWS Transit Gateway, providing enhanced options for distributing costs across your organization.
New Features
- FCA allows you to allocate Transit Gateway data processing and data transfer usage to the source attachment account, destination attachment account, or central Transit Gateway account.
- FCA metering policies can be configured at an attachment-level or individual flow-level granularity.
- Supports middle-box deployment models, enabling allocation of data processing usage on middle-box appliances to the original source or destination attachment owners.
What to do
- Enable FCA using the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, or AWS SDK.
- Configure FCA metering policies to match your chargeback scenarios.
