AWS Agent Registry in Preview

AWS Agent Registry, available through Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, is now in preview. It provides a private, governed catalog and discovery layer for agents, tools, skills, MCP servers, and custom resources within the organization. This registry offers complete visibility into the AI landscape, enabling teams to discover existing agents and tools instead of rebuilding capabilities.

The registry can be accessed via the AgentCore Console UI, APIs (AWS CLI, AWS SDK), or as an MCP server that builders can query and invoke directly from their IDEs. It supports both IAM and OAuth (Custom JWT) based access.

Key Features

  • Manual registration of resources through the console or API
  • URL-based discovery for automatic metadata retrieval
  • Approval workflow for record governance
  • Semantic and keyword search for quick discovery
  • AWS CloudTrail audit trails for compliance and security

What to do

  • Register resources manually or use URL-based discovery
  • Approve records through the workflow before they become discoverable
  • Integrate with existing approval workflows for governance
  • Utilize semantic and keyword search for efficient discovery
  • Monitor access and administrative actions via AWS CloudTrail
