Announcing Region Expansion of G6 instances on SageMaker Studio notebooks

Amazon EC2 G6 Instances Now Available in New Regions

Amazon EC2 G6 instances are now available in the Middle East (Dubai) and Asia Pacific (Malaysia) regions for use with SageMaker Studio notebooks. These instances are powered by up to 8 NVIDIA L4 Tensor Core GPUs with 24 GB of memory per GPU and third generation AMD EPYC processors, offering 2x better performance for deep learning inference compared to EC2 G4dn instances.

Customers can leverage G6 instances for interactive model deployment testing, interactive model training, and various use cases including generative AI fine-tuning, natural language processing, language translation, computer vision, and recommender engines.

What to do

  • Set up and use JupyterLab and CodeEditor applications on SageMaker Studio.
  • Visit the developer guides for instructions.
  • Check the pricing page for information on these instances.
