Announcing New Compute-Optimized Amazon EC2 C8a Instances

New Compute-Optimized Amazon EC2 C8a Instances Available
AWS has announced the general availability of new compute-optimized Amazon EC2 C8a instances, powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors with a maximum frequency of 4.5 GHz. These instances offer up to 30% higher performance and up to 19% better price-performance compared to C7a instances. They also deliver 33% more memory bandwidth, making them ideal for latency-sensitive workloads.
C8a instances are up to 57% faster for GroovyJVM, allowing better response times for Java-based applications. They offer 12 sizes, including 2 bare metal sizes, allowing customers to match their workload requirements precisely. These instances are built on the AWS Nitro System and are ideal for high-performance, compute-intensive workloads.
What to do
- Sign in to the AWS Management Console to get started.
- Purchase C8a instances via Savings Plans, On-Demand instances, or Spot instances.
