Announcing Amazon Nova 2 foundation models now available in Amazon Bedrock

Amazon Nova 2 Release

AWS announces Amazon Nova 2, the next generation of general models with enhanced reasoning capabilities and industry-leading price performance. Available in Amazon Bedrock, the new models include:

  • Amazon Nova 2 Lite: A fast, cost-effective reasoning model for everyday workloads.
  • Amazon Nova 2 Pro (Preview): The most intelligent model for highly complex, multistep tasks.

These models offer:

  • Extended thinking with step-by-step reasoning and task decomposition
  • Three thinking intensity levels: low, medium, and high
  • Built-in tools such as code interpreter and web grounding
  • Support for remote MCP tools
  • A one-million-token context window for richer interactions

What to do

  • Use Nova 2 Lite for customer service chatbots, document processing, and business process automation
  • Use Nova 2 Pro (Preview) for multi-document analysis, video reasoning, and software migrations
  • Reach out to your AWS account team for early access to Nova 2 Pro (Preview)
