Amazon SageMaker AI Announces Instance Preference Lists

Amazon SageMaker AI introduces instance preference lists for training and processing jobs, simplifying the process of finding compute capacity for workloads. This feature allows users to specify a prioritized list of instance types and counts, enabling SageMaker to run jobs on the first available configuration from the preferences, thus reducing wait times during high-demand periods.

What to do

• Specify your instance type and count preferences in priority order when submitting a training or processing job.
• Configure capacity sourcing from on-demand sources or from your reserved SageMaker Flexible Training Plans within the same job submission.

This feature is available today in all AWS Regions where SageMaker is available through the SageMaker CLIs, APIs, SDKs, and Console UI.
