Amazon Redshift Serverless Now Available in New Regions
Amazon Redshift Serverless, a service that allows you to run and scale analytics without managing data warehouse clusters, is now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Melbourne) and Canada West (Calgary) regions. This service enables users to get insights from data in seconds and automatically provisions and scales data warehouse capacity for high-performance analytics.
You only pay for the compute used for the duration of the workloads on a per-second basis. The service simplifies the process by eliminating the need for manual configurations such as choosing node types, node count, workload management, and scaling.
- New Features: Direct querying of data in open formats like Apache Parquet and Apache Iceberg in Amazon S3 data lakes.
- Billing: Unified billing for queries on any data source, helping you monitor and manage costs efficiently.
What to do
- Get started with querying data using the Query Editor V2 or your preferred tool.
- Create databases, schemas, and tables, and load your data from Amazon S3.
- Access data using Amazon Redshift data shares or restore an existing Amazon Redshift provisioned cluster snapshot.
