Amazon Redshift now supports Just-In-Time (JIT) ANALYZE for Apache Iceberg tables

Amazon Redshift JIT ANALYZE for Apache Iceberg Tables
Amazon Redshift has introduced the general availability of Just-In-Time (JIT) ANALYZE for Apache Iceberg tables, enhancing the performance of read and write analytics queries on Iceberg tables within the Redshift data lake. This feature addresses the challenge of lacking comprehensive table-level and column-level statistics in data lakes, which can lead to suboptimal query execution plans.
JIT ANALYZE automatically collects and utilizes statistics during query execution, eliminating the need for manual statistics collection. It uses intelligent heuristics to identify beneficial queries, maintains lightweight sketch data structures, and builds high-quality statistics. This feature delivers performance on par with queries that have pre-calculated statistics and is available in all AWS regions where Amazon Redshift is offered.
What to do
- No changes or settings are required to use JIT ANALYZE.
