Amazon Redshift IAM Identity Center Authentication

Amazon Redshift now supports AWS IAM Identity Center authentication for provisioned clusters and serverless workgroups configured with enhanced VPC routing (EVR). This allows access to Redshift with single sign-on using corporate credentials, ensuring traffic stays on the AWS network.

What to do

  • Enable EVR for your Redshift clusters or workgroups.
  • Configure IAM Identity Center tokens over AWS PrivateLink interface VPC endpoints.
  • Governing traffic with security groups, network ACLs, and endpoint policies.
  • Observe traffic in VPC Flow Logs.

This feature supports IAM Identity Center multi-Region replication for customers running Redshift in a different Region than their primary Identity Center instance.
