Amazon RDS for SQL Server migration cost assessment capabilities now available in AWS Transform

Amazon RDS for SQL Server

Now offers TCO assessment in AWS Transform to estimate costs when migrating on-premises SQL Server databases to RDS for SQL Server. AI-powered agents analyze your environment and provide optimal database instance recommendations to reduce cost.

Assessments support BYOM and License Included options, including cost optimization using Database Savings Plans and eligibility for the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP). You can start with various data formats and create what-if scenarios to compare cost models.

RDS for SQL Server joins other migration assessment capabilities in AWS Transform, allowing you to combine it with cost modeling of other AWS services. Enhance your assessment with additional Cloud Value Proposition pillars.

What to do

  • Sign in to the AWS Transform console
  • Select Migration Assessment
  • Start your assessment with any data format
  • Create what-if scenarios to compare cost models
