Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL

Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL now supports the latest minor versions 17.7, 16.11, 15.15, 14.20, and 13.23. Upgrade to fix known security vulnerabilities and benefit from bug fixes.

New Features

  • pgcollection extension: Available for RDS PostgreSQL versions 15.15 and above (16.11 and 17.7). Enhances database performance by managing key-value pairs efficiently.
  • Updated extensions: pg_tle upgraded to version 1.5.2 and H3_PG upgraded to version 4.2.3.

What to do

  • Upgrade to the latest minor versions to address security vulnerabilities and benefit from bug fixes.
  • Use automatic minor version upgrades during scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Consider using Amazon RDS Blue/Green deployments for minor version upgrades.
