Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL now supports the latest minor versions 17.7, 16.11, 15.15, 14.20, and 13.23. Upgrade to fix known security vulnerabilities and benefit from bug fixes.
New Features
- pgcollection extension: Available for RDS PostgreSQL versions 15.15 and above (16.11 and 17.7). Enhances database performance by managing key-value pairs efficiently.
- Updated extensions: pg_tle upgraded to version 1.5.2 and H3_PG upgraded to version 4.2.3.
What to do
- Upgrade to the latest minor versions to address security vulnerabilities and benefit from bug fixes.
- Use automatic minor version upgrades during scheduled maintenance windows.
- Consider using Amazon RDS Blue/Green deployments for minor version upgrades.
