Amazon RDS for Db2 Now Available in AWS GovCloud Regions

Amazon RDS for Db2 is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US-East, US-West) Regions. This service makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale Db2 databases in the cloud. Key features include:

  • Easy Deployment: Deploy a Db2 database in minutes with automatically configured parameters for optimal performance.
  • High Availability: For databases setup with Multi-AZ configuration, Amazon RDS performs synchronous replication to a standby instance in a different Availability Zone.
  • Licensing: Use Bring Your Own License (BYOL) available in Standard and Advanced Editions.
  • Pricing: RDS for Db2 usage may be eligible for Database Savings Plan, a flexible pricing model.

What to do

  • Use the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) option for your Db2 databases.
  • Consider the Database Savings Plan for cost savings.
  • Refer to the documentation and pricing pages for more information.
