Amazon MQ now supports RabbitMQ version 4.2, introducing native AMQP 1.0 protocol support, a new Raft-based metadata store, local shovels, and message priorities for quorum queues. This update includes bug fixes and performance improvements for throughput and memory management.
Key highlights include:
- AMQP 1.0 Protocol: Enhanced features like modified outcome and granular flow control.
- Configurable Resource Limits: Modify based on application requirements.
- Quorum Queues: Only replicated and durable queue type, now with message priorities.
What to do
- Select RabbitMQ 4.2 when creating a new broker using the m7g instance type.
- Specify the major.minor version for automatic patch version upgrades.
