Amazon Lex launches configurable voice activity detection sensitivity

Amazon Lex VAD Sensitivity Levels

Amazon Lex now offers three Voice Activity Detection (VAD) sensitivity levels for each bot locale: Default, High, and Maximum. These settings cater to different noise environments: Default for typical settings, High for moderate noise like offices, and Maximum for very noisy environments such as manufacturing floors.

Configure VAD sensitivity when creating or updating a bot locale in Amazon Connect's Conversational AI designer. This feature is available in all AWS commercial regions where Amazon Connect and Lex operate.

• Update your bot locale settings in Amazon Connect to match your environment's noise level.
• Test the new VAD settings to ensure optimal performance in your specific environment.
