Amazon GameLift Streams

Now integrated with AWS Health, Amazon GameLift Streams provides automated notifications about aging stream groups. Customers receive reminders to re-create their stream groups starting from the 45th day up to the 335th day from the creation date. Stream groups older than 180 days are restricted from adding new applications and will expire after the 365th day.

This feature enhances security by helping manage the lifecycle of stream groups and preventing the use of outdated resources. AWS Health sends reminders on the 45th, 150th, and 335th days, informing customers about restrictions and expiration dates.

Maintenance warnings and expiration dates can be viewed on the Stream group details page or via the ExpiresAt field in the GetStreamGroup API response. This feature is available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where Amazon GameLift Streams is offered.

What to do

  • Monitor AWS Health notifications for stream group reminders.
  • Re-create stream groups before the 180-day mark to avoid restrictions.
  • Expire stream groups before the 365-day mark to prevent automatic expiration.
